GalleryMaritime operates in various (inter)national art projects

In 2005 GalleryMaritime was invited by the C.Y. Tung Maritime Museum in Shanghai (China). We send 64 works of art from 16 European maritime artists to China. As art-director of the gallery Dimp Nelemans accompanied the exhibition to Shanghai; titled "Dutch Light Sails to China".
The opening of the exhibition in the Shanghai Museum was done by the Dutch Consul. The exhibition traveled to 4 other exhibition places in China.

GalleryMaritime invited the Chinese artists. So in 2008/2009 the work of 12 Chinese maritime artists travelled through Holland in EAST-meets-WEST and was shown in Rotterdam / Groningen / Den Haag / Middelburg and Hoorn. In July 2009, six of the Chinese artists participated in a 14 day art tour, sailing on the lake and organizing master classes, etc. In this project GalleryMaritime worked together with SEAMAN Foundation; Westfries Museum Hoorn, Boterhal Hoorn, Park Gallery, Kunstuitleen West Friesland. The book EAST-meets-WEST, Meeting of Minds tells all about this art exchange that was partly made possible by Zeeman Vastgoed. Price of the book: € 27,50 incl. postal charges

In October/November 2010 GalleryMaritime was invited by the cities Wuxi and Xitang to participate in the art project South Wind. We went with a group of 7 maritime artists to Jiangnan province to work and exchange our international maritime art experiences

Other art-exchange experiences.
One of our artists. Leendert van der Pool, wanted to sail and paint on a ship on the Rhine. We organised that he could sail on inland barge 'The Horizon'. He painted from this sailing experience 13 oil paintings and 3 aquarels. The catalogue with all 16 paintings, is available for € 15,-. Although not known in his region of birth, the Dutchman, Leendert van der Pool has thousands of works of art exhibited all over the world in musea and galleries. GalleryMaritime wrote about this to the Dutch Queen Beatrix and informed here about his enormous contribution as ambassador in art. The Queen gave him the honour of decoration as a night on his 65e birthday. The mayor of Middelburg decorated him in GalleryMaritime

GalleryMaritime is active in art-exchange projects in Europe for example Germany; Travermunde with Micha Weigel vs.Ludo van Well

From July 23 till August 5 2011 GalleryMaritime hosts 15 Chinese art-students with their teachers. A various programm will bring these students more and better understanding of the way artists in the Netherlands work. And there will be interesting art-skill exchange too. Follow our program during that time, there is much to learn
